On this day the kalash is filled with holy water which is then covered with cow dung and sown with barley seeds. Then, the kalash is put in the center of a rectangular sand block .We put grass inside home which  is known as ‘Jamara’. These rituals continue till the seventh day.

Day 10: Dashami
The tenth day of the festival is the 'Dashami'.  On this day, a mixture of rice, yoghurt and vermillon is prepared. This preparation is known as "tika". Elders put this tika and jamara which is sown in the Ghatasthapana on the forehead of younger relatives to bless them with abundance in the upcoming years. . Elders give "Dakshina", or a small amount of money, to younger relatives at this time along with the blessings. This continues to be observed for five days till the full moon during which period families and relatives visit each other to exchange gifts and greetings. This ritual of taking tika from all the elder relatives (even the distant relatives) helps in the renewal of the community ties greatly.

Day1:  enjoying  the tasty dinner
In the early morning, Nepalese women go to the mall for large purchases. When the night falls, they'll make a hearty meal and prepare tasty sweets. Good friends will gather together with foods and drinks, perform traditional dances and sing devotional songs.

The unmarried girls also follow Teej rituals to pray for a good husband. Those celebrations continue till the midnight.
Day 3 Taking a holy bath

The third day is known as Rishi Panchami. After paying  to seven saints, Nepali women would bathe with red mud found on the roots of the sacred datiwan bush, along with its leaves. Then they go to worship the god Ganesh, so that their wishes made in the previous day can be achieved. On this day, women can enjoy a tasty meal.
